Rosie's Virtual Notebook - Homework Week 2

Assignment Two Part 1 - Create a second HTML document and use at least FOUR of the new HTML tags discussed in this lesson to format the text. After you have created the second page, add a link to it on your first page. Now add a link on the second page back to the first page.
Assignment Two Part 2 - Answer the review questions in the beginning of the lesson. The results of your research through either online or written resource to learn about a third type of list in HTML. A beginning list of online resources that you have consulted and feel are especially helpful.

The line above is part of lesson two. This can be made in different widths, alignments, sizes or shades. I am sure this will be used frequently when designing pages.

HEADINGS ARE ALSO USED TO A VARYING DEGREE

Some can stand out and shout at you
Whilst others can be quiet small to read

The Heading at the top of the page is H1, whilst the top of this section is H2. You can also have more manipulation by stating the SIZE FONT you would like. I have used the larger size with the word "SHOUT" and the smaller with"quite small to read". I am sure I will not use SIZE 1again, as I have done here, far too small to read..
All seems to be going well, a few mistakes but these have been not closing tags correctly of which I have managed to pick up. The crossing of fingers whilst using the REFRESH button, must be working. Who says I am not technical. :o) Did you notice that I BLOCKQUOTE the last paragraph and this one. The next section I will try a PERFORMATED text as used when writing poetry. Also included will be the STRIKE tag which puts lines through text but here it will show as a line inbetween spacing to create a line.

WISDOM

In seeking wisdom, the first step is silence,
the second listening, the third remembering,
the fourth practising,
the fifth teaching others..

Ibn Gabirol (Avicebron) (1020-c.1070) Jewish poet and philosopher

Now comes the time to review Part 2 of this lesson. Whilst still completing the set tasks. As you can see the FONT has changed to COURIER NEW . I reviewed my first lesson and I have had no problems with that, as I continue to use the tags without even going back to remind myself. It will be a different story when I add the next lot of tags to my memory.
A list of useful resources will be added as time goes by. At this stage my work is severely interfering with my learning process. It would have to be the time of year when submissions for funding were due, whilst I am trying to learn HTML1 at the same time. Must keep reminding myself that we must go at our own pace. Easier to say when you see students flying ahead. Below is a list of web sites that the students from the HTML1 class have created. Clever group I think. :o)

I did have a list of students names and showing the use of Bulleted Lists but this has now been moved to the below link.
See, I told you we would get better as we go along.

This section did have a "help please explain part" but after receiving Week3 Homework which wasn't as time consuming as the first two weeks. I managed to find time to go back and relook at what I had completed. I had spent a long time trying to figure out why I couldn't get a section off centre and return to the left hand side of the page. Well the culprit turned out to be a spelling error. That word CENTER or CENTRE gets me everytime. That will teach me to have an English freak of a mother who always made sure I spelt things correctly by the Oxford English Dictionary.
The last part of this assignment was to research resources to learn about a third type of list in HTML
The three types I have come across are
  1. Unordered List Tags
  2. Ordered List Tags
  3. Definition List Tags.
